    AUPE has received notice from SAIT of its intent to abolish permanent positions within 10 business days, as per our Collective Agreement Article 12.01.     What does today's announcement of the elimination of 230 positions SAIT wide mean for the Local?We have been advised that the Local will be losing approximately 100 permanent positions plus numerous casual positions.Of the 100 positions approx. 25-30 are presently open postings that will not be filled. Labour Education Opportunities

Are you interested in union training? The AUPE Education Program delivers courses to members in support of their role in their union. Upcoming courses include Introduction to Your Union (offered online and in person), Labour History: An Introduction to Workers' History, and Foundations for Union Stewards. If you'd like to know more, check the training schedule for details. All expenses are paid - register now.
