Collective Agreement Ratified

Your new collective agreement has been ratified following the membership vote on Monday, April 29.

Your bargaining committee would like to thank you for the strength and solidarity you have shown throughout negotiations.

Agreement Summary

This is a three year deal with 0% wage adjustments in the first two years and a wage re-opener in the third year, which can be forwarded for arbitration if we do not agree to a wage adjustment with the employer.

Here are some of the highlights in the agreement:
• You can now file a grievance for workplace harassment and discrimination, which can go up to arbitration;
• You can now file a grievance for reclassification requests, which can also go up to arbitration;
• Improved flex-time;
• A new Contracting Out Article that forces the employer to consult with the union on any proposed contracting out of services;
• Improved salaries for student workers.
