Memo of Agreement Reached
Your bargaining team reached a Memorandum of Agreement on Monday, Apr. 8.
Your ratification vote will take place on Monday, April 29, at 1:30 p.m. at your worksite. We will have more information to share in the coming days.
This is a three year deal with 0% wage adjustments in the first two years and a wage re-opener in the third year, which would could be forwarded for arbitration if we do not agree to a wage adjustment with the employer.
Here are some of the highlights in the agreement:
• You could now file a grievance for workplace harassment and discrimination, which can go up to arbitration;
• You could now file a grievance for reclassification requests, which can also go up to arbitration;
• Improved flex-time;
• A new Contracting Out Article that forces the employer to consult with the union on any proposed contracting out of services;
• Improved salaries for student workers.
